Seamus Fox, Head of the Open Education Unit, officially retired at the end of January 2017. After almost 30 years service to DCU, with much of this time in leadership roles committed to the agenda of extending and widening access to higher education, Seamus will leave a large gap in our NIDL team.
As a sign of Seamus’ significant contribution to the University over many years, both The President and Deputy President spoke at his retirement event, along with Jim Devine and Billy Kelly, DCU’s Dean of Teaching and Learning. A large crowd was in attendance. Amongst several items given to Seamus to acknowledge his retirement, a current playing member of the Bohemian soccer team (Seamus’ team!) presented him with the gift of a home jersey.
We wish Seamus all the best in his retirement and hopefully we will continue to see him on a regular basis.
