While all the marketing events and campaigns raised significant interest in applications for DCU Connected courses, the NIDL staff were also successful with many projects of their own. On August 13th, Professor Mark Brown contributed to the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), Institute for Emerging Leaders in Online Learning (IELOL) Programme hosted at Penn State University. During the immersion programme over 4 days Mark gave a talk focused on the general landscape of online learning worldwide, and how understanding and assessing the development of MOOC’s (Massively Open Online Courses) thus far could give us a good indication as to where their future lies.
